Tax Accountant - Ladies Professional Golf Association (Daytona Beach, FL)

The Ladies Professional Golf Association, located in Daytona Beach, FL., is currently seeking a fulltime Tax Accountant within the Finance & Administration Department.

This position is responsible for the research and tax filings related to the LPGA (and subsidiaries) and  the LPGA Foundation (and subsidiary) to include multi-state returns, 990s, and other international tax filings.  From time to time, this position will also provide additional accounting duties as needed. This position will directly report to the Vice President, Controller.

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:

• Conducts tax research both nationally and internationally and prepares appropriate tax returns for the LPGA (and subsidiaries) and the LPGA Foundation (and subsidiary).

• Prepares corporate 990 filings and multi-state tax returns

• Manages the relationship with outside counsel regarding tax related issues

• Develops tax related communications for LPGA membership

• Creates documentation related to tax decisions

• Maintains a working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and applicable laws and regulations; reviews/creates policies and procedures to ensure compliance.

• Assists in the preparation of the annual budget and quarterly forecasts of all entities

• Performs general accounting duties as needed

• Participates in special projects and assignments as requested.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.  CPA preferred.

• Minimum three to five years accounting experience with one to three years of corporate or public tax preparation and research experience required.

• Previous experience in the public accounting field is highly desirable.

• Knowledge of GAAP, IRC, FASB, accrual base accounting and organizational auditing.

• Strong communication, interpersonal, and supervisory skills are essential.

• Strong organizational and time management skills are a must.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint required.

Staff Accountant - Ladies Professional Golf Association (Daytona Beach, FL)

The Ladies Professional Golf Association, located in Daytona Beach, FL., is currently seeking a fulltime Staff Accountant within the Finance & Administration Department. This position is responsible for the financial services and statements related to the LPGA (and subsidiaries) and the LPGA Foundation (and subsdidiary).   This position will directly report to the Vice President, Controller.

 Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:

• Prepares monthly financial statements for the LPGA (and subsidiaries) and the LPGA Foundation (and subsidiary)

• Oversees accounts payable and accounts receivable, creates journal entries, performs bank reconciliations and other operational accounting functions

• Assists in the preparation of the annual budget and quarterly forecasts of all entities

• Assists with the annual independent audit

• Maintains a working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and applicable laws and regulations; reviews/creates policies and procedures to ensure compliance

• Assures internal control compliance and trains staff on internal control procedures

• Participates in special projects and assignments as requested

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required. CPA is a plus.

• One to three years of accounting experience required.  Previous experience in the public accounting field is highly desirable.

• Knowledge of GAAP, IRC, FASB, accrual base accounting and organizational auditing is essential.

• Must possess strong interpersonal skills, confident analytical skills, a wide knowledge base of accounting principles and keep abreast of current industry trends and practices.

• Must be extremely well organized, able to multi task, be detail oriented with a professional attitude, and have a strong work ethic.

• Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness is essential.

• Strong problem solving, documentation, research and resolution skills are required.

• Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint; Accounting software experience required, preferably MAS200.
