Staff Accountant - Ladies Professional Golf Association (Daytona Beach, FL)
The Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA), headquartered in Daytona Beach, FL, is currently seeking a full time Staff Accountant. This position is responsible for the financial services and statements related to the LPGA (and subsidiaries) and the LPGA Foundation (and subsidiary). This position will report to the Assistant Controller.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Prepares monthly financial statements for the LPGA (and subsidiaries) and the LPGA Foundation (and subsidiary)
Creates journal entries, performs bank reconciliations and other operational accounting functions
Assists in the preparation of the annual budget and quarterly forecasts of all entities
Assists with the annual independent audit
Maintains a working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and applicable laws and regulations; reviews/creates policies and procedures to ensure compliance
Assures internal control compliance and trains staff on internal control procedures
Participates in special projects and assignments as requested
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required, CPA preferred
One to three years of accounting experience required, previous experience in the public accounting field is highly desirable
Knowledge of GAAP, IRC, FASB, accrual base accounting and organizational auditing
Must possess good people skills, confidant analytical skills, a wide knowledge base of accounting principles and keep abreast of current industry events
Must be extremely well organized, able to multi task and be detail oriented with a professional attitude and strong work ethic
Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
Strong problem solving, documentation, research and resolution skills
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint; Accounting software experience required, preferably MAS200
